St. Thomas @ Windham JV Game

The JV game was held right after the end of the varsity match.

Coach Matt was in a class and couldn't make it when the game was changed from Friday to Thursday.  Using his line up Coach Suleski took over the team. 

The Saints took the fields with Jason Escalera in net and Liam Sigurdsson, Henry Cronin, Tom collins and Conner Holman on the back line.  The midfield was Josh Gasper, Andrew Newcomb, Angel Kaneb and Eric Lane.  The forward attack was Lance Thibodeau and Michael Bernier.

While Windham held the height advantage St. Thomas did well to control play through the midfield.

In the first half Windham seemed to carry play more to the Saints end, but the defense held.

Leeland LaRochelle and Cameron Brenton went in at outside midfield.  Zane Keehbler went in at Forward.

John Willams went in at Keeper at the 15 minute mark.

Brock Crowley went in at Keeper at the 30 minute mark

The score was tied 0-0 at the half.

The second half saw the Saints take more control of possession.  About 8 minutes in Newcomb and Kaneb worked the ball through the Jaguars midfield and gave a great pass to Thibodeau who put a great shot on net that the windham keeper tipped it wide.  St. Thomas once again gathered up the Windham clear attempt and cariied it in, this time Newcomb put a great shot on net causing the keeper to make a diving save.

With darkness coming both teams picked up the intensity hoping to score before the Referees decided to end the game.  with only 10 minutes left in regulation Windham was able to score and the game was ended four minutes later. 

It was a tough loss when the Saints were controlling the play more.

Split duty by the keeper saw Escalera make 5 saves, Williams 1 and Crowley 4.

St. Thomas hosts Hollis Brookline in their home opener on Monday.
