The National Soccer Coaches Association of America is pleased to offer its member coaches the opportunity to recognize an outstanding senior student-athlete on their team through the presentation of the High School Senior Excellence Award.
The award was created to allow NSCAA member coaches at the high school level to recognize an outstanding senior student-athlete in their program, with the intent of honoring exceptional contributions to the team while exemplifying the finest attributes of a high school student-athlete.
Selections are to be made based on the following criteria. The student-athlete must:
bulletBe a high school senior
bulletHave made significant contributions to the team
bulletRepresent the finest attributes of a team player
bulletConsistently project a positive attitude
bulletDisplays team leadership
bulletExemplifies the standards set forth in the NSCAA Player Code of Conduct and Ethics

The nominating coach MUST be a current NSCAA member. One player may be nominated in each respective season (boys and girls).
Coach Suleski has been an NSCAA Member Coach since 2000.  In his seven years as varsity boys soccer coach at St. Thomas, TJ Tetreault is only the second of his players to win this award.
In nominating TJ for this award Coach Suleski said:

As a sophomore TJ contributed greatly to our team.  As a Junior he put his experience to good use.  He shows skill and poise under pressure which is why he anchored the outside of our defense. He has good ball handling skills and is very tough for his size.  He has good speed and is able to fend off many attacking players twice his size.  He is also quick to transition into the attack.  He had 2 assists last year doing just that.  As a senior he was elected Tri-captain and scored 1 goal and got 1 assist for 3 points.  He helped lead our team through the toughest schedule in Division 2 and all the way to the State Semi Finals.  He career total was 1 goal and 3 assists for 5 points TJ received recognition as Honorable Mention by the NHSCA as a Division 2 All State Midfielder

TJ was the winner of the 2012 Coaches Award This award is given to the player who is not only an asset to the team, but to the coach as well. He always helps out at practice.  This award goes to a very good player, but one who has learned  to be humble.  His attitude is always positive.  He always seems to give more than 100 percent.  He works to help makes his team mates better. When he is in the game he is a fierce competitor a very passionate player.  He does a lot of amazing things.  Even when he wasn't in the game he made his presence known from the sidelines. Without him the team would not have been the same.  Through his play, attitude and input he left a mark on this team.  I have watched him mature over the last 3 years into a leader, someone I could consult with.  Someone whose input I valued.

TJ was also recognized as a NHSCA/NHIAA Scholar Athlete for being a senior and having a gpa of 3.25 or higher  He was also a member of the 2011 Team which earned a NSCAA Team Academic Award.
