St. Thomas Aquinas Boys Soccer
In 2017 we lost an alumni member and past Captain of our
team, a friend, a brother, a son.
We are going to name the Defensive Player of the Year award
in memory of Jason Suleski '07.
In 2003 Jason started for the JV team as a freshmen when we
had a freshmen team and only 3 or 4 freshmen were selected to play up.
He started over sophomores and juniors.
His sophomore year he started playing JV and after the Varsity lost their
first 4 games he was brought up to shore up the defense. He sat on the bench for
the first 10 minutes of that 5th game.
It was the only time he was ever off the field.
After they gave up two goals Jason was sent in.
For the next three seasons he played in 48 games never once coming off
the field. At the start of his
Senior year he was elected as a Captain.
At the end of his senior year he was selected by the NH class I coaches
as an All State Defender. He was
also selected to the Fosters Dream team of seacoast area high school soccer
players.
Fosters quote Suleski was the Iron Man for the Saints
this season never missing a minute of play.
His ability to cover the field and opponents best scorers stumped
coaches league wide. He was able to
neutralize the best scorers on each team they faced.
Jason was also the Silver boot winner his senior year, a NHSCA & NHIAA
Scholar Athlete. He was a member of
the first team to win a NSCAA High School team academic award.
He loved this game. He was
super competitive. He hated to lose.

Jason Richard Suleski passed away April 20, 2017. He was born on November 26, 1988, in Newburyport, Massachusetts. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 2007. Jason had an uncanny ability to see the good in all people and will be sorely missed by a multitude of friends both old and new. He was an intelligent young man with many talents, but was particularly noted for his artistic abilities and his love of all sports. Some of the very best times of his life were spent on the court or the field with his brother, Ross, and many friends. Jason was a true extrovert and extended family celebrations were a highlight of his life.
